Hadith 7768

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ رَدَّتْهُ الطِّيَرَةُ مِنْ حَاجَةٍ فَقَدْ أَشْرَكَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا كَفَّارَةُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ أَنْ يَقُولَ أَحَدُهُمْ اللَّهُمَّ لَا خَيْرَ إِلَّا خَيْرُكَ وَلَا طَيْرَ إِلَّا طَيْرُكَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever is deterred from doing something by bad omen has committed shirk. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is its expiation? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Its expiation is to say: O Allah! There is no good except Your good, and there is no omen except Your omen.
