It is narrated from Saeed bin Musayyib, may Allah have mercy on him, he says: I asked Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him, about bad omens, but he scolded me and said: Who told you this? I did not like to tell him who had told me, then Sayyiduna Sa’d, may Allah be pleased with him, stated that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There is no contagious disease, no bad omen, and no evil in the owl. If there were to be any bad omen in anything, it would be in the horse, the woman, and the house. When you hear that there is plague in a land, then do not go there, and when you are in a land where plague has broken out, then do not leave from there.
