الْفَصْلُ الثَّانِي فِي أَنَّ نَوْمَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَنْقُضُ وُضُوءَهُ وَلَوْ مُضْطَجِعًاThe Second Section on the Prophet’s Sleep Not Invalidating His Ablution Even if Lying Down
Hadith 776

عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ وَأَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَامَ حَتَّى سُمِعَ لَهُ غَطِيطٌ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ، فَقَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَحْفُوظًا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to sleep in such a way that the sound of his snoring could be heard, then he would stand up and perform prayer without performing ablution. Ikrimah said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was protected.
