Hadith 7746

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely, the evil eye follows a person by Allah’s command, to the extent that a man climbs to the top of a mountain, then falls from it.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From these ahadith it is understood that the evil eye or casting an envious glance is a reality, and at times its harm can be very severe. Some temperaments possess such characteristics that physicians are unable to recognize their ailments, and in fact, no analogy proves helpful for them in this matter. An example of this is that in the present era there are such people whose every kind of medical test indicates that there is no illness in them, and even expert psychologists are unable to do anything for them. Yet, despite this, they find themselves afflicted with harmful diseases. Such people may be afflicted by magic (sihr) or the evil eye, and there could also be some other reason.
