Husayn bin Abdur Rahman says: I was with Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Jubair, and he said: Who among you saw that star which fell last night? I said: Yes, I saw it. Then I said: I did not see it because I was praying, but because I had been bitten by a poisonous creature (and I was awake). Sayyiduna Sa'id said: Then what did you do? I said: I performed ruqyah (incantation). He said: Why did you do that? I said: Because of a hadith that Shu'bi narrated to us. He heard it from Sayyiduna Buraydah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that there is no ruqyah except for the evil eye or a poisonous sting. Sa'id bin Jubair said: That person does very well who is content with what he has heard and does not add to it. Then he said: Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated to us that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The nations were presented before me. I saw a prophet and with him was a group, a prophet and with him one or two men, a prophet and with him no one. Suddenly, a very large group was presented before me. I thought this would be my ummah, but then it was said to me: This is Musa (peace be upon him) and his people. Now look towards the horizon. I looked and saw a very large group. Then I was told to look to the other side; there too was a very large group. Then I was told: This is your ummah, and with them are seventy thousand such people who will enter Paradise without reckoning and without punishment. The people said: Perhaps these are those who had the honor of being the companions of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Some said: Perhaps these are those who were born in Islam and did not associate partners with Allah, and many other opinions were expressed. Meanwhile, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them and asked: What is this that you are engaged in? They explained their discussion. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These are the fortunate ones who neither get themselves cauterized, nor do they seek ruqyah, nor do they take bad omens, and they put their trust in their Lord. Sayyiduna 'Ukasha bin Mihsan Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! Am I among them? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You are among them. Another person stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! Am I also among them? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Ukasha has preceded you.
