Hadith 7714

عَنِ الشِّفَاءِ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا عِنْدَ حَفْصَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ لِي أَلَا تُعَلِّمِينَ هَذِهِ رُقْيَةَ النَّمْلَةِ كَمَا عَلَّمْتِيهَا الْكِتَابَةَ
Lady Shifa bint Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I was with Lady Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: O Shifa! Teach Hafsa the incantation for boils and sores, just as you taught her writing.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This was Shifa’ Quraishi, her name was Layla, but she is well-known by the name Shifa’. The Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to rest at her house during the afternoon. Sayyiduna Umar (radi Allahu anhu) greatly valued her opinion; she was a very wise woman.
