It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Adhere to that thing which your nature does not like, but it is greatly beneficial; that thing is maleedah (a type of food). It should be drunk sip by sip. If anyone among the household of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would fall ill, the pot would remain on the fire, and they would be given maleedah to drink until the matter reached its end—meaning either the patient would pass away or recover.
