Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna As‘ad bin Zurarah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the leaders on the Day of ‘Aqabah, reported that redness appeared on his face and body. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The corpse of the Jews is very bad." He said this twice. "Soon these Jews will say that this Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) could not remove the suffering from his companion. But listen, I do not possess the power to harm or benefit him. However, I will certainly try my utmost to remove this suffering." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered, and two lines were cauterized on his head, but he was not cured and passed away.
