Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fever is from the furnace of Hell; the amount of fever a believer experiences will be the same amount less for him from the fire, meaning that much reduction for him in the fire of Hell.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Every kind of mental and physical illness and hardship becomes an expiation for the sins of the believers. However, patience upon it is a condition, as Sayyiduna Suhaib radi Allahu anhu narrates: “While the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was sitting with his companions, he suddenly smiled and said: ‘Will you not ask me what made me smile?’ They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! What made you smile?’ He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ‘I am amazed at the affair of the believer; indeed, all of his affairs are good. If something he likes befalls him, he praises Allah, and that is better for him. And if something he dislikes befalls him and he is patient, that is also better for him. No one’s affair is entirely good except for the believer.’” (Muslim, Sahihah: 147) … The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was sitting among the noble companions when he suddenly smiled and said: “Will you not ask me why I smiled?” The companions said: “O Messenger of Allah! Why did you smile?” He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “I am amazed at the affair of the believer; in every matter there is good for him. If something pleasing comes to him, he praises Allah, and this praise is better for him. And if he faces something disliked and is patient over it, that too is better for him. No one besides the believer is such that all his affairs are good.”
