Hadith 7616

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) received some spoils of war, among which a camel ran wild. People tried hard to restrain it, but they were unable to do so. A man shot an arrow at it, and it stopped. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some camels run wild like wild animals; if such an animal overpowers you, then do the same with it.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … For any animal that can be caught and slaughtered, the rules of slaughtering are prescribed. However, if an animal escapes and there is no way to bring it under control, then one should recite “Bismillah” and shoot an arrow or bullet at it, etc. If its blood flows and it dies before being slaughtered, then it will be lawful (halal), just as hunted game is lawful.
