It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The prayer of one who loses his ablution will not be accepted until he performs ablution again. Upon hearing this, a man from Hadhramaut asked him: O Abu Hurairah! What is meant by "hadath" (loss of ablution)? He replied: Passing wind silently or audibly.
