Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever slaughters a sparrow without right, Allah Almighty will question him about it on the Day of Resurrection. Someone asked: What is its right? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It should be slaughtered, and its neck should not be held in such a way that it is completely severed.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This narration is indeed weak; nevertheless, if during slaughter the entire neck is severed, it does not affect the permissibility (halal status) of the animal, and no ruling of dislike (karahah) or prohibition (haram) can be applied to it.
