Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a relative of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) threw a pebble. He forbade him and said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has prohibited throwing pebbles, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) has said about it that neither will it hunt nor harm the enemy, but it can break a tooth or put out an eye. That man threw a pebble again, so this time he said: I have narrated to you the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), yet you are doing the very thing from which he (peace and blessings be upon him) has prohibited; I will never speak to you again.
