Hadith 7563

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever drinks alcohol, his prayers will not be accepted for forty days. If he repents, Allah Almighty accepts his repentance, but if he returns (to drinking), then it is Allah’s right to make him drink from the river of Khabal. Someone asked: What is meant by the river of Khabal? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is a river that flows from the pus of the inhabitants of Hell.
