عَنْ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَطَبَ فَنَهَى عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon while standing and forbade the use of vessels made from gourds and vessels coated with pitch.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In the ahadith of this chapter, the use of certain vessels has been prohibited; this prohibition was temporary at the time of the prohibition of alcohol. Later, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam permitted the use of these vessels, as is evident from the ahadith of the following chapter.
