Syedna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making nabidh (a type of drink) in vessels carved from tree trunks, vessels made from gourds, and vessels coated with tar. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Drink only from that vessel which has a strap tied on it. The people made water skins from camel hides and attached goat skins near the necks of the water skins. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed of this practice, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You may drink only from that water skin whose upper part is made of goat skin.
