Abu Hazir narrates that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked about making nabidh in a jug. He said: Allah Almighty and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) have forbidden it. Then that man went to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and related to him what Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) had said. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: He has spoken the truth. The man asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): Which jug is it, the use of which the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden? He said: Every jug that is made of clay.
