Abu Abdullah Jasri narrates: He says, I asked Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) about a drink. He said: This is from the time when we were in Madinah, where there were many dates. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had forbidden for us that drink which is made from dates and is called Fadheekh. A man came to Ma'qil and asked him: My mother is old, she is very aged, she cannot eat food, can we give her Nabidh to drink? Sayyiduna Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) forbade him from doing so.
