Hadith 7495

عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ أُنَاسًا مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَشْرَبُونَ الْخَمْرَ يُسَمُّونَهَا بِغَيْرِ اسْمِهَا
Ibn Muhairiz narrates from a Companion that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Some people from my Ummah will drink alcohol, calling it by another name.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The things which Islam has declared unlawful due to certain attributes are such established laws that the passage of time or the events of the era cannot affect them. The definition of khamr (intoxicant) has already been mentioned: anything that disrupts intellectual balance or veils the intellect—regardless of what name is given to it—will be unlawful and prohibited.
