Hadith 7482

Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that we used to prepare nabidh for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a waterskin. We would put a handful of dried grapes or dates into the waterskin and pour water over them. If we prepared it at night, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would drink it in the morning, and if we prepared it during the day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would drink it at night.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Soaking dates in water and drinking the beverage prepared from it is permissible; this is called nabidh. However, when such a beverage begins to boil or fermentation starts to rise from it, its consumption becomes impermissible, because it then takes on the form of wine.
