عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الَّذِي يَشْرَبُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ مَا فِي بَطْنِهِ لَاسْتَقَاءَهُ
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever drinks water while standing, if he knew what had entered his stomach, he would vomit.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “None of you should drink while standing; and if anyone forgets, then he should vomit.” (Sahih Muslim: 2026)
