عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيَرْضَى عَنِ الْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الْأُكْلَةَ أَوْ يَشْرَبَ الشُّرْبَةَ فَيَحْمَدَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهِمَا
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty is pleased with His servant when he eats something or drinks something and then praises Allah Almighty for it.

Benefits: … It is understood that after every food and drink, one should express gratitude to Allah Ta'ala. In almost all supplications after eating, there is mention of the praise of Allah Ta'ala.
