عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَعَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَبَّذَا الْمُتَخَلِّلُونَ قِيلَ وَمَا الْمُتَخَلِّلُونَ قَالَ فِي الْوُضُوءِ وَالطَّعَامِ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) and Ata: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: How excellent are those who use the toothpick. He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was asked: Who are those who use the toothpick? He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Those who use the toothpick during ablution and after eating.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The first sentence of this hadith is established, as it is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik radi Allahu anhu that the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “How excellent are those of my Ummah who use the toothpick (perform khilal)!” (Al-Mu‘jam al-Awsat: 1/39, Silsilah al-Sahihah: 2567)
