Hadith 7412

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: When you cook meat, add more water to it so that there is plenty of broth; thus, there will be enough to give to your neighbors as well.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Allah Ta'ala has, in several places in the Noble Qur'an, commanded good conduct towards neighbors. The method of fulfilling this command has been taught to us by the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam): that when there is meat or any stew-like dish, water should be added to increase the broth, and whether the neighbor asks for it or not, it should be given to them. This good conduct is a golden principle in social life.
