Hadith 7407

عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ النُّهْبَةِ وَمَنِ انْتَهَبَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade looting, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever commits looting is not from among us.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: The purpose of bringing this hadith here is to clarify the ruling regarding scattering food and then pouncing upon it, as is done in some regions on the occasion of weddings. See Hadith number (7052).
