بَاب مَا جَاء فِي التَّسْمِيةِ عَلَى الْأَكْلِ وَالدُّعَاءِ فِي أَوَّلَهِ وَآخِرِه وَإِنَّ أَشْرَفَ الْقَوْمِ هُوَ الَّذِي يَبْدَأ بالاكلChapter: What Has Been Reported Regarding Saying Bismillah Before Eating, Supplicating at the Beginning and End, and That the Noblest Person Begins Eating
Hadith 7388

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَضَعُونَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي الطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ يَبْدَأُ
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Companions would not begin eating until the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) started eating.
