Hadith 7388

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَضَعُونَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي الطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ يَبْدَأُ
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Companions would not begin eating until the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) started eating.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This was the status and rank of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in the minds and hearts of the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum), that they would not begin eating before him sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
