Hadith 7366

عَنْ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُوا الزَّيْتَ وَادَّهِنُوا بِهِ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Usaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Eat olive oil and apply it to your body, for it is produced from a blessed tree.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Hafiz Ibn Qayyim said: For those residing in hot regions such as Hijaz, it should be understood that the use of olive oil is essential for maintaining health and bodily well-being. However, in cold regions, its use is harmful; in fact, frequent application of it to the head is no less than a danger to the eyes.
