Sayyiduna Ma’qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we were traveling with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). We stopped at a place where there was a lot of garlic. Some of the Muslims ate it and then came to the place of prayer to perform salah with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from this. After that, they again came to the place of prayer after eating garlic; he forbade them. But after that, they again came to the place of prayer after eating garlic; the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then forbade them. After that, when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sensed the smell that they had come after eating garlic and the like, he said: Whoever has eaten from this tree should not come near our mosque.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In the present era, human desires, inclinations, and the pleasures of the tongue have become dominant over his religion. Among us, onions and radishes, etc., are used as salad along with food. Despite being cautioned and admonished, those who eat them do not incline their attention towards the noble statement of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and some friends go so far as to say that if one uses jaggery or sugar, etc., after eating onions and the like, the odor is eliminated. However, without actually using this remedy themselves, they proceed towards the mosques.
