Hadith 7298

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): A Bedouin came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Most of the food of my family is lizard. You did not give any answer. When you (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a little, he asked the same question again, but you (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give any answer. When he asked the same question three times, you (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty cursed and showed wrath upon a generation of the Children of Israel, and they were transformed into animals. So now I do not know, perhaps this (lizard) is one of them. Therefore, I neither eat it nor do I forbid its eating.
