Hadith 7287

عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَتْ نَحَرْنَا فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَسًا فَأَكَلْنَا مِنْهُ
Sayyida Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that during the blessed era of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), we slaughtered a horse and we ate its meat.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The matter of donkeys and mules is clear and agreed upon, that initially they were lawful (halal), but later the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam declared them unlawful (haram).
