بَابُ وُجُوبِ نَفْقَةِ الزَّوْجَةِ بِاعْتِبَارِ حَالِ الْزَوج وَأَنَّهَا مُقَدَّمَةٌ عَلَى الْأَقَارِبِ وَ ثَوَابِ الزَّوْجِ عَلَيْهَاChapter: Obligation of Maintenance for the Wife According to the Husband's Condition, That It Is Given Priority Over Relatives, and the Reward for the Husband
Hadith 7258

وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَصَدَّقُوا قَالَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ آخَرُ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى زَوْجِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ آخَرُ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى وَلَدِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي آخَرُ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى خَادِمِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي آخَرُ قَالَ أَنْتَ أَبْصَرُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give charity. A man said: I have one dinar. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Spend it on yourself. He said: I have another dinar. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Spend it on your wife. He said: I have another dinar. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Spend it on your children. He said: I have another dinar. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Spend it on your servant. He said: I have another dinar. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then decide yourself, in the light of your own insight (as to who is more deserving).
