بَابُ عِدَّةِ الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا إِذَا كَانَتْ غَيْرُ حَامِل أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا لِقَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: «وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنْفُسِهِنَّ رْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا»Chapter: The Waiting Period for a Widow Who Is Not Pregnant Is Four Months and Ten Days, According to Allah's Saying: "And those of you who die and leave wives behind, they shall wait by themselves for four months and ten days"

عَنْ قَبِیصَةَ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ: لَا تَلْبَسُوا عَلَيْنَا سُنَّةَ نَبِيِّنَا صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم عِدَّةُ أُمِّ الْوَلَدِ إِذَا تُوُفِّيَ عَنْهَا سَيِّدُهَا أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرٌ۔
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Do not confuse the Sunnah of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for us; when the husband of an umm walad passes away, her waiting period (‘iddah) will be four months and ten days.
