عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ تَزَوَّجَ رَجُلٌ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ مِنْ بَنِي عَجْلَانَ فَدَخَلَ بِهَا فَبَاتَ عِنْدَهَا فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ قَالَ مَا وَجَدْتُهَا عَذْرَاءَ قَالَ فَرُفِعَ شَأْنُهُمَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَعَا الْجَارِيَةَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَهَا فَقَالَتْ بَلَى قَدْ كُنْتُ عَذْرَاءَ قَالَ فَأَمَرَ بِهِمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتَلَاعَنَا وَأَعْطَاهَا الْمَهْرَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man married an Ansari woman from the Banu Ajlan. He went to her and spent the night with her. In the morning, he said that he did not find the woman to be a virgin. When the matter of both of them was presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) called the girl and inquired about the matter. The girl replied: I was indeed a virgin. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered both of them to perform li'an (mutual cursing) and also gave the girl her dowry.
