Saeed bin Jubair says: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): If a person performs li'an with his wife, will there be separation between them? He replied: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had separated a husband and wife belonging to the tribe of Ajlaan, and he also asked them three times: One of you is lying, so will either of you repent?
