(Second chain) It is narrated from Abu Hasan that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) was asked about a slave who had given his wife two divorces, then both of them became free, so can he marry that slave woman again? He replied: Yes. Someone asked: From whom are you narrating this? He said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave this very verdict. Abdullah bin Ahmad says: My father, Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him), said: Ma'mar was asked: Who is this Abu Hasan? He has lifted a very heavy rock (i.e., he has said something baseless).
