It is narrated from Abu Hasan that he asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) about a slave whose wife is also a slave woman; he gives his wife two divorces, then both of them are set free. Is it permissible for him to send her a proposal for marriage now? Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: Yes, this is the decision that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made.
