Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I declare the rights of two weak ones, namely women and orphans, to be forbidden and prohibited (from being violated).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Although it is necessary to fulfill the rights of every Muslim, nevertheless, there is greater emphasis on fulfilling the rights of vulnerable individuals such as orphans and women. It is noteworthy that the wife has been described as weak; the reason for this is that, indeed, she may belong to a wealthy family, but after marriage she is at the mercy of her husband. If he is ill-mannered, life becomes unbearable, and the love and wealth of the wife’s parents and brothers do not lessen her distress. Such a poor woman sees neither any benefit in seeking divorce nor finds peace in marriage. We have seen many women who, due to their husbands’ poverty, even bring expenses for the children from their own parents, yet despite this, their husbands’ behavior is no less than that of a tyrant or oppressor. Is the only fault of these daughters of Adam that, at the time of marriage, they accepted these short-sighted men as their husbands? Is there anyone who will have mercy?
