عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَأَلَ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي يَكُونُ مِنْهُ الْوَلَدُ أَهْرَقْتَهُ عَلَى صَخْرَةٍ لَأَخْرَجَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْهَا أَوْ لَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا وَلَدٌ الشَّكُّ مِنْهُ وَلَيَخْلُقَنَّ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا هُوَ خَالِقُهَا
Narrated by Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and inquired about coitus interruptus (‘azl). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If the semen from which offspring is to be created, you were to spill it upon a rock, Allah Almighty would still bring forth offspring from it. Allah Almighty will surely create every soul that He intends to create.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From the narrations of this chapter, it is understood that coitus interruptus (azl) is permissible, but along with this, one should maintain the belief that, even then, pregnancy can occur by the command of Allah Ta'ala.
