Hadith 7071

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to curse women who pluck facial hair, create gaps between their teeth, and those who tattoo; these are the ones who alter the creation of Allah Almighty.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … There are many means of adornment that are permissible for women, for example: henna, saffron, and fragrances like khuluq, which have more color and less scent; creams and powders, etc., whose fragrance is not strong; and other makeup items, colorful garments and beautiful shoes, gold, and silk. However, the up-to-date women of this era have not sufficed with these permissible means, and have adopted such ways of beautification that are clearly forbidden in the Shari‘ah, and in fact, due to them, there is even a curse, for example: plucking (eyebrows), threading, upper lips, contact lenses, artificial eyelashes, artificial nails and hair, removing hair from arms and legs, filling in beauty spots, and so on and so forth. All these acts alter the creation of Allah Ta‘ala, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has cursed the one who does such things.
