It is narrated from Sayyida Rabi’ bint Mu’awwidh (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me on the occasion of my marriage and sat here on my bed. I had two young girls with me who were playing the daff and describing the qualities of my forefathers who were martyred at Badr. In between, they also said: “And among us is a Prophet who knows what will happen tomorrow.” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not say this.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … According to these blessed ahadith, on the occasion of marriage, there should be some form of entertainment or amusement, for example, beating the duff (hand drum) or reciting permissible poetry, or arranging for lawful games and play.

However, it is necessary that under the guise of entertainment and enjoyment, the Shari‘ah limits are not violated. For example: the intermingling of men and women and lack of proper veiling, reciting poetry that contains indecency and obscenity, playing musical instruments, or arranging for bands and orchestras.
