It is narrated from Hasan Basri that Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) was invited to a feast on the occasion of circumcision, but he refused to accept the invitation. When he was asked about this, he said: In the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we neither used to attend feasts on the occasion of circumcision nor were we invited to them.
