عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَقْعُدْ عَلَى مَائِدَةٍ يُشْرَبُ عَلَيْهَا الْخَمْرُ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not sit at a table where wine is being consumed.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The meaning of these ahadith is not that one should refrain from sitting only in the case of wine drinking, rather the real objective is the disobedience of Allah Ta'ala and His Messenger. Wherever disobedience is taking place, it should be stopped; if not, then that gathering should be abandoned.
