Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I attended the wedding feasts (walima) of two of the wives of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He did not serve us bread nor meat. (Ali bin Zayd) said: Then what was there? He said: Hais, that is, a kind of sweet dish made from dates, cheese, and ghee.
