Matlab bin Abdullah bin Hantab says that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (RA) used to perform ablution by washing each limb three times and attributed this action to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) used to perform ablution by washing each limb once and attributed this action to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
