Hadith 697
اُردوEn
((وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) بِنَحْوِهِ) وَفِيهِ: ((إِنَّمَا لَبَّسَ عَلَيْنَا الشَّيْطَانُ الْقِرَاءَةَ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَقْوَامٍ يَأْتُونَ الصَّلَاةَ بِغَيْرِ وَضُوءٍ، فَإِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْوُضُوءَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ruh Kula'i (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Satan confuses our recitation because some people come to pray without ablution, so when you come for prayer, come after performing ablution properly."
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Since there was a great scarcity of water during the Prophetic era, such a situation could arise; however, it is worth pondering that the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam could not remain unaffected by the laziness of some of his followers. From this, those people should take stock of their own lives who are surrounded by bad company and are constantly engaged in idle talk and nonsense. If someone’s objective is the safety of his faith (iman), then he should distance himself from the wicked and draw near to the righteous.
