It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a proposal for Sayyiduna Julaibib (may Allah be pleased with him) to the father of an Ansari woman. Her father said: I will consult her mother. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Alright. That man went to his wife and mentioned the matter to her. She said: No, by Allah! This cannot happen. Has the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) found only Julaibib for us? We did not even give her in marriage to so-and-so and so-and-so. The girl was listening to this conversation from behind the curtain. The man set out to inform the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The girl said: Are you rejecting the command of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? If he (peace and blessings be upon him) has chosen him, then marry me to him. By saying this, the girl revealed the hidden matter to her parents. They said: She is speaking the truth. Her father presented himself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: If you are pleased, then we are also pleased with this match. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am pleased. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Julaibib to that girl. Afterwards, once the people of Madinah were frightened, Sayyiduna Julaibib mounted to dispel it, but when the Muslims reached there, they found Julaibib in such a state that he had been killed, and some polytheists were lying dead around him. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw that woman, and her house was the most prosperous among the houses of Madinah.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Julaibib radi Allahu anhu was not handsome, and for this reason such things were said about him. However, when this Ansari woman gave preference to the opinion of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, her destiny blossomed.
“The house of this woman was the most lively in Madinah”: This means that after the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Julaibib radi Allahu anhu, many people came with proposals to marry this woman. The reason for this honor was that, while people did not like Julaibib, this woman, out of regard for the opinion of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, married him, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also supplicated for blessing for her.
The wording of a narration reported from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah radi Allahu anhu is as follows: “They said: O Messenger of Allah! Here is Julaibib lying beside seven (enemies); he killed them, then they killed him. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam came to him and stood over his body and said: ‘He killed seven and they killed him. This one is from me and I am from him. This one is from me and I am from him.’ He said this two or three times. Then the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam placed him upon his forearms, and a grave was dug for him. He had no bier except the forearms of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Then he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam placed him in his grave, and it was not mentioned that he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave him a ritual bath (ghusl).” (Sahih Muslim: 4519)
