Hadith 6850

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, used to command marriage and strictly forbid celibacy. He, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: Marry a loving and fertile woman, for I will take pride in your great numbers before the other prophets on the Day of Resurrection.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … How can it be determined that a particular woman is more likely to bear many children? This can be estimated by looking at the married women in her family to see which family's women tend to have more offspring. It is also possible that the intent of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was towards virgin (unmarried) women, because they generally bear more children compared to widows.
