Abu Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I was with Sayyiduna Salman al-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him), and he saw a man who had lost his ablution and wanted to take off his socks, but Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered him to wipe over his socks, forehead, and turban. Then he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wiping over his socks and turban."
