Hadith 6755

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَطَعَ يَدَ رَجُلٍ سَرَقَ تُرْسًا مِنْ صُفَّةِ النِّسَاءِ ثَمَنُهُ ثَلَاثَةُ دَرَاهِمَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had the hand of a man cut off; he had stolen a shield from the women's platform, its value was three dirhams.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … And in the Prophetic era, three dirhams were equivalent to a quarter dinar; the original standard is a quarter dinar, as is evident from the preceding ahadith.
