(Second chain) It is narrated from Naeem bin Hazzal that Sayyiduna Hazzal (may Allah be pleased with him) had hired Ma'iz bin Malik, and Hazzal had a slave girl named Fatimah, who had taken divorce from her husband and used to graze goats. Ma'iz committed an evil act with her and then informed Sayyiduna Hazzal (may Allah be pleased with him) as well. He deceived him and said: Go to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and inform him about this incident; perhaps the Holy Qur'an will be revealed regarding you and thus a better way out will be found. When he explained the details, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to be stoned, so he began to be stoned. When stones struck him, he ran away. Ahead, a man was coming with a camel's jawbone or a leg bone; he struck him with that bone and knocked him down. Later, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Hazzal! Woe to you, if you had covered him with your garment, it would have been better for you.
